Implementation of an embedded system for reproducible hyperpolarization in NMR

Description of the work:

Nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) is an analysis tool with several advantages, such as being non-invasive and allowing real-time monitoring. However, one major drawback is the low sensitivity of this tool. To improve the sensitivity, hyperpolarization is often used. To guarantee reproducible results with hyperpolarization an embedded system needs to be set up and tested. The goal of this work is to program an embedded system according to the required safety standards, build it up and test it. For the control, an Arduino UNO Rev3 will be used.

Task:
  •      Set up valve system and implement it in the embedded system
  •      Create GUI for easy control of the system
  •      Build up system
  •      Test and evaluate system

This internship offers the opportunity of implementing an embedded system into a testing setup as well as gaining first experience with interdisciplinary fields.
The job is limited to a working time of maximum 30 hours per month.
